Honest Review of HijabDressUp, Ecommerce Abaya Designs & Muslim Fashion Ware Shop

There has been a rising trend of Muslims shopping online for their clothing, accessories and other fashion ware. To meet the demand of this tech savy group of Muslim shoppers, many ecommerce Muslim fashion ware shops have emerged.

Most of these ecommerce shops offer the latest in Muslim fashion ware. In addition, their websites are easy to navigate, orders can be made immediately along with payments and once buyers’ delivery details are furnished, the goods can be delivered to the buyer within a few days or weeks.

One such prominent ecommerce Muslim fashion shop, HijabDressUp, will be the subject of our review today. From their humble beginnings in 2012 to a successful ecommerce Muslim fashion shop, HijabDressUp has come a long way to be where they are today.

HijabDressUp started out in 2012 by a husband and wife team, Mohamad Latiff and Muniz Ali, with two bases of operation, namely Singapore and Thailand. They had a simple yet strong vision – to empower all women with emphasis on Muslim women through products and services that will enrich their lives.

Through their online Muslim fashion ware platform, they provide elegant hijab style, abaya designs, burkini swimwear, maxi dresses, shawls and other products catered for the Muslim women’s market. For the last 8 years of operations, they have served more than 2,000 satisfied customers worldwide, in numerous cities such as Thailand, Singapore, USA, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Pakistan, Malaysia, United Kingdom, Maldives, France, Bangladesh, Indonesia, India, Jordan, Canada and much more. In addition they have amassed a fanbase of over 99,000 loyal Facebook fans.

But exactly what has made HijabDressUp so successful and popular? There are various reasons but we will highlight the major ones here.

Firstly, the fashion ware provided by HijabDressUp is of the highest quality and include interesting features. A noteworthy example is the burkini swimwear, a modest Muslim attire for swimming, which allow female Muslims to cover their body parts, save for the face, hands and feet while enabling them to enjoy flexibility for water activities. In addition, burkini swimwear is quite a rarity in other online or traditional brick and mortar shops, which gives HijabDressUp an edge over their competitors.

The next factor that their success can be attributed to is their down to earth and excellent service. Latiff and Muniz will personally attend to customers’ queries and go the extra mile to ensure that their every need is fulfilled. They believe that any successful business must always put their customers first and treat them like an extended family. Just as we will always love our family and shower them with care and concern, the same should be applied to ensure that customers will always be satisfied.

HijabDressUp is truly the epitome of service excellence and business success. They are able to withstand the pitfalls of business uncertainty at a time where customer satisfaction with other businesses are dwindling and many businesses have been forced to close down due to unstable income flow. And at the rate they are going, we foresee that HijabDressUp will continue to thrive in the near future to come.

How to Develop New Ideas for Mobile Apps

With so many mobile apps available, is it possible to develop a totally new idea for one? Absolutely. Can you make your own version of famous apps? Yes. But the novelty or commerciality of an idea is secondary to the usefulness of the app. What is it for? Who is it for? Developing new ideas for mobile apps depend primarily on who and what your business for. Here are some things you could base your new app on:

A mobile app works as a product and a place where you can continue giving good customer experience. As a product, it should be able to provide what your business can, in the absence of a physical store. As an extension of your business, it should give users comprehensive data and a seamless experience. The rationale for creating a new app shouldn’t be to jump on the overcrowded app train. It should reflect your business’ mission and vision.

Your app should also uphold your company’s values. Apart from efficiency and great customer experience, what are the other things that your company stands for? Does your company support certain advocacies and charities? Your app should be able to reflect that. For example, a bookstore business can create a game app which promotes the value of reading to primary children.

Business Plan

Take a look at your business plan and determine if creating an app can help you achieve growth. If you have an automobile company, you would want people to buy more cars from you. Hence, you could create an app that helps them find scrap car yards easily.

People’s Behavior, Particularly Your Customers

Look at what products or services people spend their most resources (money and time) on. It could be finding the toiletries section at your grocery store. Or it could be non-life insurance products. Once you identify these products or services, you need to find a way to make them easily available to your customers through an app.

Customer Complaints

Review the most common complaints your customers have been sharing with you for the past few years and see how you could address them using a mobile app.

Customer Loyalty Programs

If you have an existing discount card or loyalty program in place, it’s time to digitize the service. You get to save on printing and tracking customer loyalty points. If your company doesn’t have these, then this is an app idea tL consider.

Take on the competition by developing a mobile app that’s better than what they have – or pioneer the first mobile app for your industry!

Pros and Cons of Building an Android App

Transforming a solution into a mobile app is a viable way of addressing people’s needs while earning money.

One of the key development decisions is choosing which operation system (OS) your mobile app will run in. The two most popular operating systems are Android and iOS. In this article, we’ll be laying out the pros and cons of developing a mobile app for an Android device.

Largest market share

Android has the largest share in the mobile OS market, with 87.7% of smartphone users on Android. Android also leads the market in two of the largest economies in the world: United States and China. It holds 62% of market share in the US, and 76.4% in China. There are 2 billion monthly users on Android as of February 2018.

Wider install base

Because of the large number of people using Android devices, there’s also a wider install base for you to capitalize on.

Wider demographics

A wide consumer base means having users from all parts of the demographic spectrum. Android devices are more popular in emerging markets like Asia, Africa, and South America. Because of its broader demographic market, it’s also possible for you to create apps for every age and interest.

Google and Amazon

Placing your mobile app in two major marketplaces gives you an increased margin for success.

Number of compatible devices

There is a wide range of devices that use Android: smartphones, tablets, laptops, wearables, ad even televisions (AndroidTV) and autos (Android Auto). So if you don’t want to get in the saturated mobile app market, you can develop apps for the other types of devices. The native app market is a better place to explore because it’s less crowded than Google Play.

Open development platform

Android uses an open development platform. That means that the app company you’ll be working with can use a wide range of development software to build your app. An open development platform also allows them to utilize Android devices’ native features such as cameras, GPS trackers and directories to create your app.

Efficient app review process

The app review process takes less than seven days.

Beta testing

Android allows for beta testing so you can address bugs before rolling the app out.

Less expensive

It’s four times less expensive to feature an app on Google Play than on Play Store.

Generates Less Income

Android users are less likely to spend money on apps because they are open-source.

Device and OS Fragmentation

There are literally hundreds of devices you have to configure your app for. OS is fragmented, with 28.1% of users still using Marshmallow 6.0, 22.3% using Nougat 7.0, 6.2% using Nougat 7.1, and 0.3% using Oreo 8.1. The high degree of fragmentation makes Android app development more expensive.

Why Your Company Needs to Develop Its Own B2B App

B2B apps provide services similar to a B2B company would in digital and mobile form. They are essential for businesses as they help streamline operational processes that would normally take valuable time for high-priority items such as product and service development, sales forecasting, staff training, or major marketing initiatives.

If you own a B2B business, then certainly you’ve thought of developing an app that caters to your customers. While you have yet to determine if an app is truly right for your business, you’re on the right track. In this digital and mobile era, there is a need to adapt your business to the changing needs of your target market, as well as their workforce and trends in their industries.

Adapting your mindset to the times is the first and most important thing to attaining success with your clients. This is especially true for companies catering industries that require a large workforce or manpower, such as outsourcing, logistics, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing. Sales-heavy businesses would also benefit from a B2B app. Providing your clients with responsive technologies can also help them lead the way in their respective industries. By doing that, you are able to build trust and loyalty with your clients and attract valuable referrals. Mobile B2B apps are also vital to empowering the millennial workforce in order for them to perform their jobs well.

Optimise your mobile website or develop a mobile B2B app?

But first, you need to consider is if you really need a mobile app or just optimise your website for mobile phones and tablets. This depends on the problem you’re solving, your target market’s end-users (certainly not their CEO!), and the industries you are catering. Companies that rely on real-time transmission of tracking data from the field to the office would need a mobile app. On the other hand, companies that rely on data gathering would instead benefit from an informative mobile website. Developing an app for the latter would be redundant and too laborous in terms of data transfer.

Other benefits of developing a mobile B2B app

As stated above, developing a mobile B2B app can help your strengthen your clients’ brands and yours and empower their millennial workforce.

Technically, a mobile B2B app can help clients perform business operations efficiently, by providing them with customised technology that works fast online or offline. They can be equipped with special features such as GPS, geomaps, and cameras which would otherwise be difficult to integrate in a mobile-optimised website. These features help clients solve operational problems precisely and quickly. Mobile apps are also easier to navigate than a mobile-optimised website.

A highly targeted niche which is on the rise now is online Halal sites. Online Halal sites are now also tapping on ecommerce to expand their brands and outreach to the worldwide Muslim community that has exceeded 1.6 billion people and is continually rising. What was once mainly halal brick and mortar shops  have extended to online ecommerce sites.

Numerous fashion, food, travel guides and other ecommerce sites that cater to the Muslim market are fast cropping up each and everyday. Ecommerce fashion sites sell many different Muslim friendly clothes like abayas, head scarves and burkinis. But fashion sites are not just limited to clothes. Many of these sites have physical shops to cater to the local community but extend their outreach to the foreign market via online ecommerce sites.

The next huge Muslim centric niche that utilises ecommerce effectively is the food industry. Apart from satisfying their current customers that flock to their shop, halal food owners have also used ecommerce sites to increase their customer base and improve their sales. These sites offer online catering, food delivery, advance orders and much more. With ecommerce sites, many of these functions can be done seamlessly and customer satisfaction can be guaranteed.

Another hugely popular Muslim niche that is using ecommerce sites is halal travel guides. Common Ecommerce SEO misconceptions and mistakes

If you’re an online retailer, chances are you’ve done SEO. Here are some of the most common mistakes or misconceptions you’ve encountered while optimizing your website.

Thinking that ecommerce SEO content is spam.

Back when search marketing was still in its infancy stage, SEO content looked bad. They read like spam and tacky, too in–your-face marketing. Since then, ecommerce SEO has developed to a better form. Search marketing is now seen as an equally important digital marketing strategy, just as much as social media. Sure, there are still companies that use old, spammy SEO techniques, but there are more practitioners who use legitimate and ethical business practices. These practictioners that provide ecommerce SEO services can help you create quality, authoritative and relevant content any time of day.

Assuming that technical SEO matters more than content.

Ecommerce website owners spend so much time and money on technical audits and sitemap optimization, when the problem might not even be there in the first place. Even if you’ve worked a lot on technical SEO but have little to no quality, original, and relevant content, then you would have few backlinks to lean on. Having a lot of high-quality backlinks pointing to your website is important if you truly want to increase your search visibility, online traffic, and rankings. So you need to create more SEO content. As mentioned in the first point, SEO content has risen from being a spammy eyesore to material that is relevant and easy on the eyes of the user.

Using the same content on your ecommerce website, blog and social media.

Having the same content on your website and other digital channels doesn’t help you rank better. Authentic and quality users will only flock to your website and social media if you have valuable content. On the other hand, if they see the same information, then they won’t see much value in you and leave. To attract and retain authentic and quality users, you need to create different content that is compatible with each digital platform. What’s on your e-commerce website should remain there. Your blog and social media content should contain Ecommerce SEO-friendly copy that links to your website.

Glossing over categorizations.

Having specific product categories in an ecommerce website are crucial. They help customers find what they need easily, save time and have a simpler and more efficient purchasing experience. Simply put, categories improve your online customer service. Developing specific categories is also very useful in terms of SEO. Doing that helps you develop more keywords that will help your website rank higher. Also, more categories can help you create more relevant, quality and even evergreen content for your blog and social media channels.

Doing SEO on your own.

If you want to do SEO for ecommerce website, you have to enlist the assistance of a dedicated and expert Ecommerce SEO team. They can help you address any misconceptions or correct any of your mistakes so that you could finally get your page to rank.

Ecommerce SEO Basics for SMEs

Where are we now?

We live in a mobile era, where 67% of time spent are on smartphones. The number of online purchases
made through mobile phones is also rising. According to an article by Statista, mobile phone
sales account for around 34% of total online sales in the US from 2017. This number could also rise to
53.9% by 2019. Mobile searches are also highly common, with a whopping 72% of food &
beverage-related searches done over mobile.

Though there is a considerable shift to mobile, desktop and tablets aren’t exactly left behind due to the following reasons. First is that consumers conduct initial searches on mobile, and still make final purchasing decisions using their desktop or tablet. Second is that desktops and tables are utilized for transacting more important matters. While consumers favor using their mobiles for games and social media, they rely on their desktops and tablets for decisions such as purchasing a home or vehicle.

The data above affirms the fact that Ecommerce is an at an all-time high, with online users visiting online
sales platforms on different devices. SME businesses should take advantage of this upward trend by engaging in more user-driven marketing initiatives, such as Ecommerce SEO services.

What is Ecommerce SEO?

Ecommerce SEO refers to Ecommerce Search Engine Optimization. It is the process of optimizing your website’s architecture, design, and content in order to bring in more online traffic and sales. Another name for Ecommerce SEO is search marketing.

Why do I need to invest in Ecommerce SEO?

Online searches still generate the most user traffic to a website. Hence, you should position yourself well on search engines for users to notice you. Also, and more importantly: the key to gaining online users’ trust is being visible and efficient. Ecommerce SEO helps you achieve visibility on the first page of search engine results. Appearing immediately on search engine results makes your company the go-to “person” for an online user’s needs. By making online users’ journey easy and efficient, you get to earn their trust. The third reason is that of the multi-platform purchasing decision trend that’s mentioned above. Finally, it’s the best way to sustain your SME business online.

Can I do Ecommerce SEO in-house?

You can as there are a lot of SEO guides online and have your in-house IT person work on it. Or you could hire another staff member for the job. However, those solutions are too costly and would not guarantee results. You can spend months of training and still not get it right. Hence, it is more viable for SMEs like yours to outsource Ecommerce SEO services to ensure success while being cost-efficient. Ecommerce SEO agencies possess the expertise and cost less than raising your IT department’s salary and training budget or adding a new employee to your roster.

There are a lot of search marketing agencies that provide SEO for Ecommerce website. It’s just a matter of finding one that has experience, expertise, offers customised SEO solutions and delivers truly excellent customer service.

What Goes into Developing a Mobile App in Singapore?

Developing a mobile app in Singapore is no different from developing an app anywhere else. What you will be getting, if you opt to use a custom mobile app development company, is years of experience using methods that have been proven repeatedly. Think about something that Albert Einstein said – “the only source of knowledge is experience” – and most of the top app company Singapore has to offer employ fully experienced developers and coders. Here’s how they do it, from start to finish:

1. Consultation
The initial step is to talk out your ideas, work out whether they are feasible and what the opportunities are for expanding on those ideas. Without this step, the rest is much harder as it lays the groundwork.

2. User Stories
The features of your app are developed as user stories so that their value can be worked out

3. Specification
Once the initial work is out of the way, they will start work on designing your app and they will provide you with an in-depth specification of your app; how they build it, what is going into it, all the work needed, a visual representation of your mobile app in words. This is the only way that you can see what you are getting and whether it matches your expectations.

4. User Interface Development
The next step is to work out your UI. This is an important part because it is what your users are going to see. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that, so long as it works its fine. People want to see something spectacular, something that makes them want to carry on using that app and brag about it to all their friends. They will produce as many sketches as you need to see to be sure that you are getting what you want and giving permission for your mobile app to enter the development stage.

5. Setting up the Databases and Coding
This is the part of the development that allows your mobile app to be developed for iOS and for Android and it lays the groundwork for the backend to be developed.

6. Application Code
Most developers prefer to use native code for building applications using Java and Swift. This makes it easier to code and keep track of. Often, the backend of a mobile app will be built using Ruby on Rails and this is why you need to have someone who is experienced in several computer programming languages.

7. App Submission
Once your app has been developed and you are happy with everything, the final product will be submitted to the app stores. Getting it into the iOS store and into Google Play Store are the only ways that you can guarantee the success of your app. Your chosen developers will do everything, all the coding, the images, videos, etc., everything that needs to be included and will get it ready for you to submit to the store.

Most Singapore mobile app development companies will provide a guarantee, usually 6 months, in which they will help you to iron out any issues. One such company that you can definitely trust to develop your mobile app is Ambient, Ambient.sg, Web & App Development Agency Singapore & Malaysia.

Pomade Hanz De Fuko Quicksand

A Pomade Review: Hanz De Fuko Quicksand

Today we’re featuring a review from The Panic Room, of one of their pomade products, the Hanz De Fuko Quicksand.

Pomade Hanz De Fuko Quicksand

Craving the beach bedhead or other gravity-defying look? Pulling an all-nighter and need your hair to look like you fixed it right out of the shower? Hanz de Fuko – Quicksand would be perfect for you!

It is rather unique in that it gives the hair great lift and volume while absorbing oil. The secret? Its gritty formula contains diatomaceous earth, a soft granular rock similar to pumice that sucks up excess oil on the hair and scalp. It offers a matte finish with a high hold and gives amazing texture—even in fine, limp hair.

As the name implies, Quicksand’s consistency is those of very fine sand, but it spreads very well through your hair. Oddly lightweight, it’s great for those who like their hair “the morning after.” As it is a mix of styling wax and dry shampoo, you can use it on second day hair with the benefit of both a shampoo and a holding factor. It stays flexible throughout the day so you can still move your hair around if you’d like.

On mornings when you’re running late for work, you can use it to get rid of the extra oil and create a quick style on the go. When you have more time, you can use it on damp hair with a blow dryer for an extra punch of volume!

Quicksand provides a huge plus in terms of restyling. One full fingertip of Quicksand on dry hair provides solid hold and volume for roughly five hours—after which it will start to loosen up its grip. When you need more hold, just add more to your hair. No need to worry about your hair gets too greasy because as we mentioned, Quicksand is a dry shampoo too! There is absolutely no shine from the product.

The smell is rather hard to describe…. it’s like a quicksand? However it’s on the light side and we never heard our customers complaining about it. It’s also not that easy to wash out—just how beach-goers and swimmers prefers it to be.

Verdict: A very versatile styling product that you should not go without! Read more or get it from The Panic Room.
